Delgado’s easygoing manner has meant that he is extremely well connected. He won a tennis scholarship from the former British Davis Cup player David Lloyd as a 10-year-old.
Since David’s son Scott took over as the head of the Lawn Tennis Association, Delgado has been one of his closest advisors.
AMBASSADOR FOR TIE BREAK TENS
Delgado works as an ambassador for Tie Break Tens, which is a short form concept that staged its fifth major event in New York in March, featuring Serena Williams and Marion Bartoli.

Delgado was Andy Murray’s coach during one of the toughest phases of his career. Delgado explained how he had to don various hats in the period when Murray recovered from injury. He acted as a motivator and a friend before Murray made his return to the court.

ANDY MURRAY’S HISTORY OF COACHING SPLITS
Andy Murray has had a lot of friction in his relationships with coaches and mentors in the past. The Britisher split with his coach Brad Gilbert halfway through his tenure. Gilbert cited Murray’s love of video games as one sticking point.
His coach Miles Maclagan split with him due to irreconcilable differences with another member of the coaching team, Alex Corretja.

Murray’s most famous split came with his coach Ivan Lendl. Under Lendl, Murray reached the greatest heights in his career including his first grand slam in the form of The US Open in 2012.
