Jasprit Bumrah is one of the key players of India who has the ability to turn the table single-handedly. His wonderful spell of 5 for 7 made sure a massive 318 runs win for India in the first Test against West Indies in Antigua. Surprisingly, his fifer came via the outswinger to the right-hander and inswinger to the left-hander. Even the pacer also shared that he has been evolving.

“I am always trying to evolve,” said Jasprit Bumrah.

However, he shared that he can bowl outswingers with utmost confident now.

“Lot of hard-work and practice goes into that (bowling the outswinger). I always had the inswinger but the more I played the more confident I got. Playing with the Dukes ball in England helped me a lot too. It has helped my confidence,” expressed a confident Bumrah.

Not only Bumrah, Ishant Sharma too picked up a five-wicket haul in the first innings and pacers took 18 wickets out of 20.

“[We are] always trying to evolve as a bowler and always trying to do new things and when the ball is not swinging maybe try and use the seam to get the movement. Lot of communication goes between the bowlers and sometimes you just need to hit good areas and everything else will follow,” said Jasprit Bumrah.

However, the wind was a great factor in the West Indies and that can sometimes go wrong for either side. But Bumrah said they tried to use it for their advantage.

“We used the breeze to our advantage and stuck to our plans, to bowl inswing from that end and outswing from this end.”

At first, Bumrah was struggling to get back in his form as he was playing after some time but later he found his form and finished with a five-wicket haul. With this fifer, he became the first Asian pacer to pick a five-wicket haul in South Africa, England, Australia and West Indies.

“[I was] playing after sometime and little stiffness on my back, pace was also down and I was just trying to figure out what was going on. But in the second innings, it was all sorted out. Looking forward to the next game,” said Bumrah.
