During the pit stop phase of the Brazilian Grand Prix 2019, there was a bit of a hairy incident. Race leader Max Verstappen had just pitted for soft tyres and got out of his box cleanly, fairly routine stuff. Unfortunately, he didn’t account for Williams F1 pitting Robert Kubica at the same time.

That culminated in the Polish driver getting out marginally ahead of Verstappen. A startled Verstappen had to take avoiding action and nearly stuffed his front wing into the pit wall.

Naturally, the Dutchman was furious and he let rip on the radio, as it was a dangerous move. On track, he quickly dispatched Kubica and attacked Lewis Hamilton with a vengeance.

Now, the FIA have slapped Kubica with a 5-second time penalty for the infringement. Due to the scuffle, Hamilton leapfrogged Max Verstappen and the latter was determined to get the lead back.
