The oldest and the most prestigious tennis tournament in the world, the 2021 Wimbledon Championships, starts on June 28. The emerald green grass, tradition of strawberries and cream, and pristine white outfits make Wimbledon more than just a Grand Slam, it’s a celebration of its rich history.
Last year, the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) canceled the Wimbledon Championships because of the raging coronavirus pandemic. Hence, as the iconic tournament is about to begin after a gap of two years, the fans are excited to witness the draw and the players back in action.

When is the draw for Wimbledon Championships 2021?

The draw is scheduled to happen on June 25 at 10 am local time, three days before the Championship commences. On the men’s side, World No.1 Novak Djokovic is the defending champion whereas Simona Halep is the women’s defending champion.
Doing away with the grass-court seeding formula used since 2002, the AELTC would base the seeding of Gentlemen’s singles draw solely on ranking, however, the method of seeding for the Ladies’ singles draw would remain unchanged.

In the United Kingdom, BBC TV and Eurosport UK would provide complete Wimbledon coverage. Across Europe, fans can witness the action on Eurosport, beIN Sports, Sky Italia, Sky Deutschland, and many others channels depending on different regions of the continent.

In the United States of America, Tennis Channel and ESPN would live broadcast the matches during the two-week-long Grand Slam.

In India, China, and Japan, the fans can watch the action live on Star India, CCTV5, and NHK respectively. As for the Australian public, Channel Nine would air live-action. In addition, the online streaming website bet365 would also provide live coverage.

The announcement of the draw would present a potential route to the final for the top players in the world. With Rafael Nadal and Naomi Osaka having already withdrawn from the tournament, it could provide a relatively easier path to some players.
