World No. 1 Novak Djokovic is currently preparing for the final of the Australian Open 2021. He will be playing against Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev on Sunday.
Novak will be chasing his 9th Australian Open title and will be considered a favorite after enjoying a large amount of success in Melbourne.
Yesterday, Naomi Osaka won the women’s Australian Open final, making it her second title in Melbourne and 4th Grand Slam overall. She is the proud winner of four Majors at the age of 23.

She joined an elite club of winning her first four Grand Slam finals along with Martina Hingis and Roger Federer.

Djokovic congratulates Naomi Osaka on winning Australian Open 2021
The 8-time Australian Open winner, Novak Djokovic took to Instagram and congratulated her on achieving further success in familiar territory.
During the 2019 season, Djokovic and Osaka were crowned Australian Open winners, and history could be repeated if the Serb wins his match today.

Former Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka congratulated both players on yesterday’s match. She tweeted, “Thank you for inspiring ladies Naomi Osaka and Jennifer Brady, and congratulations Australian Open and WTA.”
Reflecting back on their journey this season in Melbourne, Osaka beat 2-time Grand Slam winner Garbine Muguruza after saving match points.
Later, she went on to beat her childhood idol Serena Williams and concluded her tournament by beating Jennifer Brady in the final yesterday.

On the other side, Novak had three matches that ended in four-set wins, and his third-round match against Taylor Fritz was decided after the fifth set.
During the course, Djokovic beat Tiafoe, Raonic, and Zverev, which proved to be a tough draw. He faced an injury on the right side of his abdomen and felt trouble during the matches.

However, as the tournament progressed Novak felt more at ease, which is a positive sign for him as he needs to win one more match to win his 18th Grand Slam title.
