American Tennis Star Venus Williams Makes an Appearance at the NBA Face-off Between Miami Heat and Boston Celtics

Venus Williams has been out of the tour for 9 months now. However, even though she is yet to make a comeback on the tour, she is currently enjoying her time off-court. Former World No. 1 is known for her love for tennis. Undoubtedly, she has also proved her love in her 3-decade-long career.

However, recently, she took some time off from tennis, to enjoy a game of basketball between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics.

Venus Williams attends Miami vs Boston match

Yesterday, May 17, 2022, NBA fans around the world had nothing less than a treat. With the Eastern Conference Finals in place, fans around the world witnessed one of the most anticipated matches of the tournament between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics. Being in their utmost form, both the teams indulged in some high-level competitive basketball.

Giving the fans numerous nail-biting moments, both the teams made sure to raise their game in order to outplay their opponents. However, after the four quarters, it was finally the Miami Heat who won the tie 118-107.

The much-awaited match had a jam-packed stadium full of Miami and Boston fans. However, amongst the thousands of basketball fans in attendance at the stadium, one fan that took the limelight was the tennis sensation, Venus Williams. The 41-year-old was spotted in the stands in a denim shirt and straight hair as she supported her favorite team.

Catching a glimpse of the 7-time Grand Slam champion, Sports network ESPN took to their social media handle to post the moment. Sharing the moment, ESPN wrote, “Venus Williams is in the building for Celtics-Heat.”

Venus Williams’s love for the game of basketball is not a newfound one. In 2017, she featured in a commercial for the California State Lottery in which she traded tennis for basketball.

A Wimbledon comeback for Venus?

As mentioned earlier, Venus Williams has been out of the tour for 9 months now. She last played at the Chicago Open in August last year. Suffering from a first-round exit, she next had to play at the US Open. However, a leg injury forced her to withdraw from the last major of the year. Since then, she has been out of the tour.

Since then, her fans and followers have anticipated her return on a number of occasions. However, she is yet to make a comeback. Recently, she dropped a slight hint of her comeback at this year’s Wimbledon through her social media handle. However, an official announcement by her is still awaited.
