‘Anybody and Win Any Week’- American Star Jessica Pegula Shuts Down Theories About Inconsistency in WTA

The WTA finals tournament was the ideal way to cap off Jessica Pegula’s fantastic 2022 season. Along with the other eight tennis players, Jessica Pegula recently rose to the third spot in the world rankings after winning her second singles championship over a week ago.

The tennis pro, who is 28 years old, has never before advanced to the WTA Finals end-of-year competition. However, she recently discussed the likelihood of new players emerging and how difficult it is for veterans to maintain consistency.

Jessica Pegula shares her views on new players coming out in the light

The 28-year-old smartly responded when asked about the consistency of female players in the WTA Finals during a recent press conference. She said, “I think it just shows the depth. I know that there’s not a lot of people saying there’s not a lot of consistency or consistent winners, but at the same time I think it keeps it exciting, think there’s always new storylines. I think it just shows that no matter what every week someone can have a great result.”

She went on to say that it might be difficult for the top players to break through in every challenging match, which just demonstrates the depth and diversity of the WTA and how much the women tennis players want to give their all in the matches. She said, “You have to be very, more or less, pretty consistent throughout the year, which I think just shows how hard our sport is and how much depth there is.

Additionally, she stated that tennis players don’t always have a good time on the court and that it may be difficult at times. She said, “I don’t know. To me, it seems harder nowadays. I just think the matches don’t come as easy. So I think all the new players, it’s just showing the depth that we have with all the girls. Anybody can win any week possible.”

Pegula searching for her first WTA victory

In the round-by-round battle, the 28-year-old tennis pro is seeking her personal victory match. However, she didn’t feel as though she had what it took to pull off a surprising victory in her most recent two matches. She went against Maria Sakkari and Ons Jabeur.
