Spaniard tennis professional Carla Suarez Navarro, who inspired many on and off the court, played her last Olympics match at Tokyo Olympics 2020. After losing to Karolina Pliskova in the women’s singles event, her doubles team with Garbine Muguruza lost to Viktorija and Belinda Bencic in doubles. Consequently, both the Spaniards found it impossible to hold back their tears in front of the press.

Even though they lost, Carla and Garbine put on a memorable fight that tennis fans would cherish for years to come. They lost the second-round match in the deciding tiebreaker, 6-3, 1-6, 9-11.

The Spaniard Carla Suarez returned to the tennis tour at Roland-Garros recovered from cancer. Since then, she has been saying goodbye to all the big tournaments in tennis, one by one.

Rennae wrote, “To see Garbine Muguruza walk away because she was losing it emotionally is all you need to know what we all feel towards Carla Suarez Navarro! SHE IS THE ABSOLUTE MOST HUMBLE SPECIAL HUMAN! Garbine obviously felt so badly about not getting the job done for her; this breaks my heart!”

Conclusively, the veteran Spaniard announced that it was her last doubles match with Garbine, and the latter commented on the post, saying, “I’m gonna start crying again.”

Without a doubt, the Carla-Garbine doubles pair would remain one of the charismatic tennis partnerships ever. Hence, the entire tennis world felt close to what Garbine felt in front of the press.

In 2014, Garbine and Carla joined forces as doubles partners, and won three WTA titles together, Stanford Classic, Birmingham Classic, and Pan Pacific Open. Their best result at a Grand Slam doubles event came at the French Open in 2014, where they reached the semifinals.
