Navratilova slams Djokovic’s PTPA

The tennis legend came out heavily against Novak Djokovic’s Professional Tennis Players Association. It was a break-away organization that the Serb had formed, along with the Canadian tennis player, Vasek Pospisil. The motive of the association was to address the players’ issues and give them a larger say in decision-making.

However, Navratilova had strong words against this organization. She said that the association was controversial and didn’t help the sport. Further, some of the big names in the sport like Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have distanced themselves from the PTPA.

Earlier this week, Djokovic suffered a fresh setback surrounding his US Open participation. The tournament released a statement that all but ruled out the Serb for the last Grand Slam tournament of the season. This will be a huge blow to Djokovic after his success at the Wimbledon Championships.
