‘Coincidence?I Think Not’ – Eugenie Bouchard Considers Herself the Lucky Charm After Successfully Representing Various Teams

Canadian Tennis Star Eugenie Bouchard has been away from the action for over a year now. The 28-year-old last played in March 2021. Her first-round defeat against Lin Zhu of China was her last competitive match before she suffered a shoulder injury. Following the injury, she went through surgery and currently is in her rehabilitation period.
However, the former world number 5 has kept herself engaged in the break as she has been enjoying watching a few sports other than tennis. In a recent tweet, Eugenie shared pictures from her visit to the inaugural Miami Grand Prix, an NBA match, and an ice hockey game. She also shared an interesting coincidence about all three games.

In the tweet, Bouchard wrote about the three different games she witnessed, and interestingly all the three teams that she supported won. The Canadian happily shared the pictures of all three games and hinted that it could not be a coincidence since it has happened for the third time now and how she is a lucky charm for the teams she supports.
“Went to @F1with @redbullracingthey won, @MiamiHEAT gave me a jersey they won, then watched the @FlaPanthers, and they won. Coincidence? I think not, ” she wrote.

Bouchard has been in rehabilitation after going under the knife. She has missed the start of the 2022 session. Although earlier in March, the 28-year-old played a few exhibition matches to step up her efforts in order to make a comeback later this season.

She also hinted at her return in her Instagram stories, where she was seen practicing on the tennis court. However, her return will highly depend on her match fitness as the gap has been very long. The former world no. 5 has dropped out of the top-1000 of the WTA rankings because of her lengthy injury layoff. It will take an extraordinary effort from her to get back to her prime.
