Yesterday was an exciting day for the American tennis fans as Serena Williams announced her return after a year away. The 40-year-old will be participating in this month’s Wimbledon Championships after receiving a wildcard entry into the women’s singles’ main draw. However, before the grass-court Grand Slam tournament, Serena is set to play doubles in Eastbourne. She’ll team up with Ons Jabeur to mark her return to tennis.

Jabeur is having a fantastic 2022 season on the singles front. Earlier this year, the Tunisian lifted the Madrid Open title. Additionally, she finished runners-up in Charleston and Rome. The World No.4, who was thrilled at the news of her partnership with the 23-time Grand Slam champion, expressed her emotions about playing doubles with Serena Williams.

Ons Jabeur reacts to playing doubles with Serena Williams

The 27-year-old took to Twitter and wrote, “Thrilled and excited to team up with the one and only @serenawilliams in Eastbourne! Can’t wait to play!”

Earlier, she had mentioned, “Pretty excited to play doubles with Serena. When I got the news, I was over the moon, and such a privilege for me. Very lucky that she picked me. Hopefully, we gonna have a great tournament and cannot wait to be in Eastbourne this year.”
