Serena Williams is probably the best player to step on a tennis court. The 40-year-old has won 23 major titles in her illustrious career that has spanned over two decades. Although she made it look easy on the court, there is a lot that goes behind making a successful tennis player.

Serena was lucky to have her father, Richard Williams, who coached her and Venus at a very early age. However, there’s a huge role played by her former coach Rick Macci.

Praising Serena’s mental strength, her former coach Macci praised her for being ready in advance for the challenges that she might encounter. He called it a special genetic quality that the former world number 1 possesses.

“Serena had more time than any student I ever taught. A unique quality that is genetic, where you are just ready mentality before you have to get ready,” he wrote.

The entry list for Wimbledon 2022 has no mention of Serena Williams. Notably, earlier, the 23-time Grand Slam champion had hinted at a possible comeback in Wimbledon 2022. But that seems very unlikely now. Although she can participate after requesting a wild card invitation, nothing as such can be confirmed for now.
