Maria Sharapova Wears Sustainable Dress Made From Water Bottles at Britain’s Fashion Awards

Five-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova was one of the most remarkable talents in women’s tennis. However, after a bumpy few years, the Russian star decided to retire in February 2020. And now, Sharapova is embracing life outside tennis courts. Recently, she and her businessman fiance Alexander Gilkes attended the Fashion Awards in London.

Only this year, Sharapova got engaged to her long-time boyfriend, Gilkes. On this fashion eve, the couple looked ravishing, especially Sharapova in her couture dress made from water bottles. Incredibly, the former World No.1 looked stunning even while getting ready for this event.

After a while, snapshots of Sharapova and her fiance Gilkes taking the red carpet came out. The couple seemed to be in a good mood for the fashion mega-event.

Arguably, the retired tennis star wore one of the most inspiring outfits among the best of the fashion world, with the message of sustainability being spread loud and clear through her dress.

Earlier, Sharapova also had reflected on the passing away of Louis Vuitton’s creative director and Off-White CEO Virgil Abloh. She wrote, “So so sad. Truly one of a kind.”

Sharapova’s glamorous tennis career

Overall, Sharapova won 36 singles and three doubles titles on the WTA Tour. Also, she is the first Russian woman to complete a Career Slam in tennis.

Winner of all Grand Slams once, Sharapova only repeated her French Open glory twice. She also won the silver medal for Russia in the 2012 London Olympics and Fed Cup in 2008.

Conclusively, Sharapova had a great career in tennis, starting from a teenager to becoming a legend. Fans hope to see her soon on the tennis court in an exhibition event or otherwise.
