American tennis legend, Serena Williams, recently played her last professional tennis match. The 41-year-old, retired after a 27-year-old long and illustrious career. It’s hard to imagine tennis without Serena for modern-day tennis fans. While she contributed a lot to the popularity of the game, she also benefitted from it.

In fact, Serena met the love of her life, Alexis Ohanian, when the 39-year-old, attended one of her matches. Recently, Serena revealed how the chemistry between them built up.

She also revealed how things started between them. “So when he came to the match, I was like okay. And we just stayed in contact and it really wasn’t anything for a long time because we were just texting,” Serena said.

She further added, “He is an incredibly handsome guy, so yeah, I think it was there.” When Drew asked Serena again, if Alexis was handsome, Serena chuckled and said, “He was alright. In case he is watching. No, I’m kidding.” Serena gave an interesting reply when Drew further asked her about that special moment which changed everything for her. Serena cheekily replied, “It’s all of them. Like there’s no one way to cook a chicken. You could fry it, you could bake it, you could season it.”

Serena first thought Alexis Ohanian is a security guard

Serena and Ohanian were complete strangers before they crossed their paths. Interestingly enough, Serena’s agent, Jill, had a common friend with Ohanian and invited him to watch the match. After the match, Alexis entered their car. Ohanian is 6 feet 5-inch tall man, which made Serena think that he was a security guard.

Williams further questioned her agent if she has a stalker, because of which they have arranged for a security guard. Her agent instantly corrected her, telling her who actually he was. After dating for a few years, the couple married in 2017. Their daughter Olympia was born the same year.
