The relationship between Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian is nothing less than a fairytale itself. Having their roots back in the year 2015 when the two first met, Serena and Ohanian, have come out as what one calls, ‘the ideal couple’.

Even since co-founding Reddit, Ohanian has managed to project himself as one of the most prominent entrepreneurs. However, despite being at the top of his field, he hasn’t shied away from putting himself below the gigantic aura of his wife, Serena Williams. Recently, the 39-year-old took to his Twitter handle, drawing a comparison between the influence of Reddit to that of his wife.

Needless to say, Ohanian has rightly been the biggest support for Serena Williams in her personal and professional life. After plying her trade in the WTA tour for close to three decades, the 23-time Grand Slam champion recently announced her retirement. While she has been receiving heartfelt messages from her fans ever since then, who’s not left behind is her husband, Ohanian.

Taking to his Twitter handle, he wrote, “I’ve seen over the last 7 years how much y’all love my wife—what she means to so many, worldwide. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Plenty of folks have told me “how Reddit changed their life,” but the scale & impact of “how Serena changed my life” stories absolutely dwarfs it.”

Going ahead in the thread, he wrote, “And that’s just the stuff I hear when people come up to me to say hi. You simply cannot overstate the size and influence she’s had on so many people.”

Serena Williams is counted in the elite list of the greatest athletes of all time. A feat that has helped her to be an inspiration for many. However, in the words of Ohanian, his wife has no idea about it. Ending the heartfelt message, he wrote, “And for what it’s worth, as far as I can tell, she has no idea. She doesn’t think about it.”

While Serena continues receiving messages like these from her well-wishers, she is making sure to get the best out of herself in her last set of tournaments in North America.

Following her retirement announcement, Serena kicked off her North American swing at the Canadian Open. Even though she won the first round with ease, she failed to reproduce the same performance in the second round. Out of the Canadian Open, she is now set to play the Cincinnati Masters.

Following the Cincinnati Masters, Serena will then move to her final Grand Slam event of her career, the US Open. At 23 Grand Slam titles, Serena will look to give her last shot at equalizing Margaret Court’s record of 24 Grand Slam titles.
