Williams sisters’ possible face-off
In one of the episodes of the Match Point Canada podcast, Eric Hechtman, Serena and Venus Williams’ coach, answered a few questions about the legendary sisters. When asked about their possible face-off in the upcoming Grand Slam tournament, he admitted that he would do something their dad would have done.
He said, “You know, one approach could be not to go to the match and that way, there is no point of reference for either girls to look at their coach. And the other one is that to not sit in anybody’s camp and sit far away in the stands to be able to observe and watch the match, but you know it is what it is. If it happens. It’s luck of the draw.”

Serena, her sister, has had a much greater influence on the sport, though. The 23-time Grand Slam champion is one of the richest and most influential female athletes in the world while also being one of the most decorated female tennis players. She also outperformed her sister in head-to-head matches and has won more trophies.
The duo will play in the same tournament for the last time. As the youngest Williams sister has announced her retirement and will eventually retire after the US Open, fans are dreading a similar announcement from Venus as well. However, with both participating in Flushing Meadows, the entire tennis fraternity is hopeful of seeing another iconic match between the two.
