It was an impromptu meeting between the American tennis legend and her tech entrepreneur husband in Rome. The ‘Queen of the Court’ had no idea that Ohanian was the co-founder of the renowned online platform Reddit when they first met.

Nonetheless, despite having different professional paths, they eventually struck a chord and have become one of the most popular celebrity couples at the moment. The former tennis ace previously confessed that she and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, are “total opposites,” revealing everything about their differences. Speaking about it, the former tennis ace said, “Alexis and I, we’re completely opposite. I’m an athlete. He’s a business guy. I’m black. He’s white. We’re total opposite..”

The Reddit co-founder, on the other hand, accepted that he was a ‘nerd’ during one of his appearances in the show, Jimmy Kimmel Live. In one of the segments, Ohanian agreed with Kimmel when the host said “In a way it is the greatest nerd-makes-good story”.

Despite being the ‘total opposite,’ Williams and Ohanian have always lauded and respected each other. Serena also believes it might be the reason that they are still a good fit, given their polar opposite personalities.

How did Serena meet her tech-savvy husband?

The ‘Queen of the Court’ was in Rome for the Italian Open, where she ended up meeting her eventual husband. Speaking about the same in ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’, the American tennis legend revealed how her first meeting with Ohanian was an impromptu one.

Serena detailed how a random guy showed up at the same hotel where she was staying during the tournament in Italy. It took her only one meeting to realize that Ohanian was a tech-savvy person. He was on his laptop the whole time when Williams was sitting next to him. This  irked the 41-year-old tennis legend during their meeting in the restaurant but it eventually blossomed into a loving and stable relationship.
