It’s rare to see anyone willingly leaving the WWE. However, that’s exactly what Brian Cage did.

Going by the ring name Kris Logan in WWE, Brian Cage never made it big during his stint. On the recent AEW Unrestricted Podcast, Cage discussed his run with his former company.

Brian Cage was a part of WWE’s initially important developmental system called FCW.

However, he could only work with the company for a year because of certain reasons.

Despite that, being friends with Chris Kanyon helped him enter into the porch of WWE.

But regular negligence on the part of WWE post signing him was deemed as the prime reason for him calling it quits.

Brian Cage on WWE personnel’s treatment

Cage frankly explained that he had suffered a major concussion while he was training at FCW.

He stated that Johnny Ace had promised him a conversation regarding his future advancements. For the uninitiated, Ace is a former wrestler who is an authoritative figure in WWE.

Remorsefully adding, he said that he was completely shut down, even when he took the initiative to start a conversation.

“I fall backward and my head falls down all three ropes. The next day, I was concussed. I asked Noble what happened and if he talked to Ace. He said he will try to talk to him and we will see what happens. End of the night, he never talked to him and he said, don’t worry, we have your information. We are going to Australia for a couple of weeks. We will reach out to you, whatever,” Brian Cage said.

Cage would go on to confront Johnny Ace.

When he met him, he reached out his hand for a firm handshake, but Ace gave him a disgusted look.

The machine continued working that day even with a concussion. After a while, Johnny Ace realized his mistake and apologized for his behavior.

Subsequently, Cage was offered a contract. After wrestling for a while, he was released by the company. Although, he holds no regrets over it and has no aspirations to return.

Brian Cage is a devoted professional. That’s why, leaving the WWE was not a very tough decision for him once he realized that the company will never pull the trigger on him.

WWE couldn’t tap into his latent potential. Post leaving the company, he returned to the Indies. As we all know, he is currently signed to WWE’s rivals AEW.

Brian Cage said, “I’m not some super anti-them and F them, but I’ve done well without them and so if I never have to go back there, I’m happy with that”

As we look back at things, we realize how different they could have been if only WWE could have used Cage’s potential.

WWE has in the past failed to utilize many talents, and Cage is just another name on the list.
