Kenny Omega’s appearance on one of the screens of WWE ThunderDome was a huge shock for the audience. Considering Omega is signed with AEW at the moment, it seems rather absurd that he will pay WWE to watch their matches. In fact, this is exactly what Chris Jericho thinks.

During an interview with Gary Cassidy, Jericho opened up about his thoughts on Kenny Omega being a part of the WWE ThunderDome audience. He is of the opinion that wrestling fans have the tendency to believe almost every story that pops up.

However, the reality of the situation is that Kenny Omega was definitely not present at the ThunderDome.

“Whenever you give wrestling fans a rope, they are going to hang themselves. So, I don’t think Kenny was really there.”

There is a certain group of fans which strongly believes that Omega was present. Unfortunately, there has been no official confirmation from either- except when Kenny Omega sent out a tweet. Even then, numerous individuals are positive that it was Omega trolling the entire hype surrounding his name.

On the other hand, Chris Jericho strongly believes that WWE needs the virtual audience. Undoubtedly, this was a dig at the abysmal viewership that WWE was experiencing before the arrival of the ThunderDome.

That being said, Chris Jericho is quite the master at framing conversations in a way that AEW comes off looking better than WWE. Hence, while he agrees that WWE needed the virtual audience, he adds that AEW would rather place a smaller number of live audiences in the arena.

“It does look great but once again you cannot replace a live crowd. I would much rather have 500 real fans than 1,000 TV screen fans, and I bet you the WWE would agree with that.”

This particular number – 500 – stems from the recent show where AEW placed 500 fans at the Daily Place. This is only 10% of the arena’s capacity.
