Former WWE Champion Believes Cody Rhodes Will Regret Leaving AEW: ‘Less Spotlight is Necessary to Be Shown on Him’

Cody Rhodes has been in the news ever since he left AEW. Following his shocking AEW exit, there have been several rumors about Cody once again signing with WWE.
Cody’s decision to leave AEW came as a shock for many. Several individuals from the pro wrestling world had commented on his AEW exit, including former AEW World Champion Chris Jericho.

During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Chris Jericho talked about the addition of CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Keith Lee, and Adam Cole, and how this might have led to Cody Rhodes’ AEW exit.

Jericho said, “The more of those guys we bring in, the less spotlight is necessary to be shown on Cody Rhodes. Maybe that’s one of the reasons why he left. I really don’t know.”
“I honestly think, in a few years, he’ll look back and think, ‘I had it pretty good in AEW. Maybe I should have stuck around.’ But you can’t think that way. Guys come and go all the time. That’s the business,” he added. (H/T: Fightful)
Jericho and Cody are obviously two former WWE superstars who joined AEW. They even faced each other in AEW for the AEW World Championship in which Jericho had the victory.
A look at Cody Rhodes’ WWE and AEW career achievements
Cody began his professional wrestling career in WWE’s Ohio Valley Wrestling in 2006. Later, he made his television debut on WWE Raw in 2007.
During his time in WWE, Cody competed against several top WWE superstars. Speaking of his achievements in WWE, Cody won the WWE Intercontinental Championship twice, WWE Tag Team Championship thrice, and World Tag Team Championship thrice.

Following his departure from WWE, the former AEW TNT Champion appeared in other pro wrestling promotions, such as Ring of Honor, Impact Wrestling, and New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
Later, he started competing in AEW. Not to forget, Cody is one of those few individuals who had a major role in AEW growing up to what it is today. He served as the Executive Vice President of AEW.
