“I Love You Forever”: WWE Legend Talks About His Good Times With Bill Russell

The tragic news of the death of the famous NBA player Bill Russell on Sunday devastated the sports community. Without a question, Russell was among the greatest players to ever take up the sport. Not only is he a legend, but he was also one of the game’s early pioneers, inspiring a generation to pick basketball.

Numerous well-known celebrities have paid tribute to the former Boston Celtics center and expressed their respect for him. The legendary pro wrestler Iron Sheik also paid tribute to the legend on Twitter.

The Iranian wrestler paying tribute to the icon reflected on his enjoyable interactions with Russell. The wrestler, who has been a longtime admirer of the legend, expressed his sorrow, tweeting, “BILL RUSSELL RIP you, the legend of the earth. We come to the garden, we always spoke from the heart. I love you forever.”

Russell’s family tweeted on Sunday that the iconic NBA center has passed away at the age of 88. Indeed, the news was heartbreaking for the fans. Although, it has been some time since Russell’s playing days in basketball. Nevertheless, it’s still quite clear how he affected the game.

Not just The Iron Sheik, but prominent figures such as Barack Obama, Shaquille O’Neal, Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson, James Harden, and others paid homage to him after his passing for the legacy he made during his career.

On his journey to becoming one of the best basketball players ever, Bill Russell had a steep learning curve. In other words, for Russell and his family to succeed in life, they had to put up with a lot of racial and social injustice.
