Drew McIntyre fulfilled his long-awaited dream at Wrestlemania the previous weekend. He did it by defeating the former UFC Heavyweight champion, Brock Lesnar. McIntyre now eyes another Heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury.

Drew McIntyre became the first pro wrestler from across the Atlantic to win the promotional title. The newly crowned WWE champion appeared on talkSport and talked about his future. He quickly brought up the name of “The Gypsy King”.

“I know Tyson Fury is on the show today, as well. I need to bring up Fury because he was talking trash about me, so I know he’s coming on the show. Tell him ‘I saw what you said about me.”

McIntyre added that the WBC champ didn’t care about who won between him and Brock Lesnar. As per the WWE champ, Fury knew all along that he was going to defeat Lesnar.

“He didn’t care who won the match, he thought I was going to win and thinks he can smash me. Just let him know ‘Fury I’ve won the championship, now I’m paying attention to you’.

Tyson Fury took to Instagram to fire back at the newly crowned champion

It didn’t take long for Fury to get wind about what the Scotsman had said about. Fury already has experience of pro wrestling under his belt. The British pugilist defeated Braun Strowman in Saudi Arabia in his promotional debut with the WWE last year.

He took to Instagram to respond to Drew.

McIntyre also called out British soccer commentator Chris Sutton. Both of them had gone back and forth in a friendly fight on Twitter.

“When it gets backs to normal, the next thing I want to do is fight Chris Sutton. You set it up. Finally, when everything gets back to normal and I can get back to the UK and parade about with the belt, the last thing I want to do is have the match with Sutton. You’d be in my corner.”

While the comments about Sutton were made to invoke hysteria, McIntyre may be starting a future feud with Tyson Fury. The champ currently has no existing matters to take care of with fighters. In such a scenario, Fury could spring up as a worthy opponent.
