While speaking to Sports Illustrated once, he said, “Somebody on the street asked me like that. TMZ just caught me on the street and (the host says he has written Cena’s response).”
John Cena gives his views on dating apps
In 2018, John Cena appeared on the Sports Illustrated Media Podcast where he talked about dating apps. The conversation sparked when the host asked about his breakup with Nikki Bella. However, he denied the Nikki Bella conversation but gave his views on dating apps.
Cena replied, “Once again, the stigma of trying to be perfect in the public eye. So millions of these people flocked to social sites because they don’t know to meet people and realized that there is an easy way to connect.”

He added, “If I’m trying to meet someone, why shouldn’t I be able to use this interface because of what I do for a career? I think it’s a general perception that if you are in the public eye and if you go on these connection sites then everyone else will use it. Then you will be of lesser value as a human being.”
The 16-time world champion is very conscious about his public image. Moreover, the host suggested Cena to use Bumble. Surprisingly, Cena said he thought about using the Bumble app for the promotion of the 2018 movie BumbleBee.
Nevertheless, Cena using a dating app was a major question in 2018. He and Nikki Bella have called off their wedding and separated. Therefore, whether they were seeing someone at the time was a question of interest.

After sharing his views about dating apps, the Peacemaker actor shared whether he uses any of those. Clearly, this was not for any of his film promotions, as he honestly answered the question.

The WWE legend said, “I’m not currently on any dating sites but I mean…… I’m 41 (the host tells Cena he can’t do Tinder because he’s too old for that app) See what you just said right there.”
He added, “This is the same person a minute ago who said this is 2018, there shouldn’t be any perception. No, you just proved you are stereotyped, ‘You are too big for Tinder’. So if I use this application you would think negatively about me right now. You just said I’m too big.”

There was a debate between him and the host regarding whether Cena should use Raya, Bumble, etc, and not Tinder. However, he proved his point to the host about why he doesn’t use dating apps.
