Yesterday, Netflix dropped the last two episodes of the series Stranger Things season 4. We saw a five seconds moment when The Hulkamania ran wild in the last episode. There was a scene where Joyce Byers played by actress Winona Ryder holds a t-shirt of Hulk Hogan.
The Netflix hit series is based in the 1980s in Hawkins, Indiana, a group of young friends witnessed supernatural forces and secret government exploits. As they search for answers, the children unravel a series of extraordinary mysteries.
Season three of the series ended with Jim Hopper played by actor David Harbour getting arrested by the Russian army. In the latest season, Joyce goes to save Hopper with Murray Bauman, where they meet a Russian Smuggler Yuri Izmailov, who smuggles American goods to Russia. The Hulk Hogan t-shirts are also a part of the smuggled goods which are later found by Hopper and Joyce.
However, this was not the only time we saw Hulk Hogan’s 80s t-shirt in the episode. We saw the t-shirt again when Joyce, Hopper, and Murray go to the Russian prison. While putting being chased by a Demogorgon, we can see a clear picture of ‘The Hulkster’s’ print on the t-shirt holding the WWE Championship.
The Netflix series Stranger Things is a fictional story, but the makers have kept the 80s elements as they are. Nevertheless, it is safe to say Hulk Hogan was popular beyond the American border, as the t-shirt is brought to Russia, where the characters find it.
The Iron Sheik takes a dig at Hulk Hogan again
Speaking of the 80s, The Iron Sheik is partly responsible for the start of the Hulkamania. Since losing his title to Hulk Hogan, Sheik has always been vocal with taking shots at The Hulkster. The Iranian wrestler has also come forward to talk about it since he joined Twitter.
