Tom Brady is one of the biggest ballplayers in the world. Not only is he a great sports person, but he has also stayed an American heartthrob for years now. And Michael Jordan is the best basketball player to have ever graced the NBA world, being an inspiration for legends like Kobe Bryant. But during the recent episode of Raw, an up-and-comer superstar backed by Vince McMahon has made an unimaginable claim.

Austin Theory, the wrestler in question, is a very decisive figure in the wrestling world at the moment. After winning the Money in the Bank briefcase, Theory incurred the entire Internet’s hate all at once.

In a promo with Bobby Lashley at the start of the show, Theory said, “Just like Michael Jordan, just like Tom Brady. Hell, both of them combined. I shine brighter than they ever did in a clutch,” while talking about his victory at Saturday’s Money in the Bank ladder match.

The audience was livid to see Austin Theory make an appearance tonight. Not only did the audience boo him from the moment his music hit, but every word that he was speaking got a ‘What?’ chant.

Theory’s climb in the main roster through Vince McMahon

The plan for Austin Theory, in the beginning, seemed unknown. During the initial period of the pandemic era of wrestling, Andrade and Zelina Vega brought Austin Theory and Angel Garza to the main roster. This unlikely duo even had a match at WrestleMania 36, against The Street Profits.

But then they moved Theory back down to NXT, where he worked as a heel and joined Johnny Gargano’s group. Here, he found a character and purpose, but when the couple decided to take a leave from WWE, they shifted theory back to the main roster.

This time he made a big impact, being in a storyline with Vince McMahon himself. This boosted his popularity immensely, and eventually, he became the United States Champion earlier this year. Beating Finn Balor clean, upset fans immensely. And after the failed main event segment with Bobby Lashley and the losing the championship to him, everyone thought that his time was over.

But that is until the men’s Money in the Bank match started. Adam Pierce added him to the match and then he went on to grab the briefcase. While Theory is an amazing wrestler, fans wanted Riddle or Zayn to take the briefcase, and Theory’s win just left the fans to hate the product even more.
