AJ Styles is currently one of the most prolific performers in the WWE. He has amassed years worth of experience in the ring, through his days in the indie wrestling scene. He has performed well in New Japan Pro Wrestling, TNA/Impact wrestling, and is now in the WWE.
Throughout his long and storied career, he has developed a wide range of moves, all of them amazing to behold. Here are a few wrestling moves that AJ Styles doesn’t do in the WWE anymore.
First up, is the Springboard Shooting Starpress. This move involves launching the body using the top ropes in a backflip, directly into the opponent, standing outside the ring. Styles has used this maneuver multiple times, each more dangerous and sketchy-looking than the next.

The move was banned by the WWE after Brock Lesnar tried performing it, and almost injured himself seriously.
Next up, the Stylin DDT is also an amazing-looking move that Styles hasn’t used for a while. Styles jumps off the ropes, flips, and lands, catching his opponent in the air and falling with a reverse DDT.
AJ Styles has many lost finishers
The Diving Somersault Plancha is another move that Styles hasn’t performed since his days in other, smaller promotions. The move is essentially a jump off of the top ropes, with a forward somersault, landing right on the opponent.
This spectacular move was extremely dangerous and has been rightfully abandoned by Styles. The aspect of the move making it so risky is definitely its reliance on the opponent. The Plancha relies completely on a competent opponent to pull it off, failing which, would definitely result in severe injuries.

AJ Styles Pens Emotional Message After The Undertaker’s Retirement
In what may be the most visually appealing of all the moves mentioned, the Fosbury Flop is another move that Styles hasn’t used in the WWE.

The gorgeous maneuver is very similar to the aforementioned Diving Somersault Plancha, in that it involves jumping over the ropes, like a bonafide madman. Styles attempts this move like a high-jump athlete, turning his body sideways, as he lands on his opponent, completely blind.
The Hollow Point may be the one move that should probably never be attempted by Styles in the future. It very closely resembles Undertaker’s Tombstone Piledriver, and has rightfully been omitted from Styles’ arsenal of moves.
Piledrivers have been banned in the WWE unless they’re performed by the Undertaker. The Undertaker uses his height advantage to ensure that his opponents’ head is always above his knees. Styles cannot safely pull off this move, as he doesn’t possess the height advantage.

All of these spectacular moves are finishers in their own right. Styles has his unique way of blending together separate elements of all these moves, into amazing performances. That’s what makes AJ Styles ‘The Phenomenal One’.
