“Beat Them up Backstage” AEW Notables Confess They Used to Beat Dwayne Johnson and Stone Cold Steve Austin as Kids

In wrestling’s history business, Dwayne Johnson and Steve Austin are two of the greatest. They have significantly contributed to the WWE’s rise to prominence as the biggest pro-wrestling promotion in the world. Additionally, they engaged in a legendary feud, which is one of the most famous in the annals of sports entertainment.

Despite their legendary reputation, Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn of the AEW tag team disclosed to the Chris Van Vliet podcast that The Rock and Steve Austin allowed them to use their signature moves on them.

In case you didn’t know, the father of the AEW stars is WWE Hall of Famer Billy Gunn. Vliet questioned The Gunn Club on the podcast about wrestlers beyond their father Billy Gunn, who they enjoyed watching.“I mean, I have to go with Stone Cold with The Rock. I mean, those are so entertaining, how can you not?” Colten Gunn replied.

Moreover, Austin shared an interesting anecdote about how he and his brother used to beat The Rock and Stone Cold backstage. He stated, “They used to let us beat them up backstage. I would give Rock a Stunner every time I saw him. And then Stone Cold, give him the Rock Bottom or whatever you wanted. It was just super cool and so they were so welcoming. [18:26 – 18:40]”

As Billy Gunn was among one, the superstars from the Attitude Era. So when they were young, The Gunn Club had no trouble getting to know the WWE greats. In addition, they enjoyed hanging out with the famous people and discovered that they were humble in contrast to their persona on the Screen.

Are Stone Cold Steve Austin and Dwayne Johnson still signed to WWE?

The rattlesnake and The People’s Champ have been two of the biggest names in WWE for many years. They still have a devoted following today. However, neither of them currently makes an appearance on WWE television. For a bout at WWE WrestleMania 38, Austin recently returned after retirement.

Since WrestleMania 38, The Texas Rattlesnake has not appeared on WWE television. Although fans might anticipate him to make a few more WWE appearances in the future, his match at WrestleMania 38 was probably his final match as a professional wrestler.

As for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, there have been rumors suggesting that The Rock might make his WWE return in 2023. The fans last saw him compete in a WWE match back in 2016.

Since then, he is yet to compete again in a match in WWE. But if the rumors are true, then the WWE Universe will probably see him in action at WWE WrestleMania 39 against Roman Reigns. As of now, there is no confirmation of this. But there is a possibility that The Rock might return to WWE in 2023.
