“Game Changer”, “Please Don’t Wrestle”: Fans Express Mixed Opinions After Former WWE Divas Champion Makes Her AEW Debut

Since AEW started its operations, many released WWE superstars went on to join the Tony Khan company. Furthermore, fans have always thought, the released WWE superstars would get a platform to showcase their skills in AEW. Similarly, a former WWE superstar made her AEW debut on the latest episode of ‘Dynamite’.

The recent ‘AEW Dynamite’ aired from the Arthur Ashe Stadium, Queens, New York. Moreover, the Queen’s crowd saw the debut of the former NXT and Divas Champion, Paige aka Saraya in AEW now.

After the match between Toni Storm vs. Dr. Britt Baker vs. Athena vs. Serena Deeb for the AEW Interim Women’s World Title was over, Saraya made her presence felt. Tony Khan shared a post with the trademark ‘Saraya is All Elite’ picture on his Twitter after the show.

Subsequently, the wrestling fans were shocked to see her debut, and had mixed reactions towards Tony Khan. There were several questions raised about the promoter signing Saraya, another ex-WWE wrestler.

However, there were fans who were happy to see Saraya in AEW. The excitement level of these fans was next level as Saraya finally makes an appearance in a wrestling company.

Another person thanked Khan.

However, there were many who questioned Tony Khan’s decision to sign Paige in AEW.

Furthermore, few fans think Saraya shouldn’t wrestle in AEW.

There were few fans who praised Khan for signing Paige and are happy to see the former Divas Champion in the company.

In the month of June this year, Saraya announced her departure from WWE officially through Twitter. She was an integral part of WWE but had to retire due to neck injuries.

A revisit to Paige’s WWE career

Paige started wrestling at the young age of 14. She wrestled at her parent’s promotion in the UK. However, the WWE signed her after she passed their try-out program in 2011. Moreover, after spending some time in Florida Championship Wrestling, Saraya was moved to the newly launched NXT.

Saraya became the first NXT Women’s Champion in July 2013. She held the title for 10 months before she was forced to relinquish it after moving to the main roster.

On the RAW after WrestleMania 30, Paige accepted an impromptu match against AJ Lee for the Divas Championship. She won and became the first woman to hold NXT and Divas titles together at the same time.

She had many memorable feuds later in WWE and Paige was also an integral part of the Women’s Revolution in the company. Saraya retired from in-ring competition after suffering a neck injury at a live event which kept her out of action for months.
