WWE is under fire for its stance on Twitch and other third-party apps. Many wrestlers voiced their protest against the company’s controversial decision. WWE veteran Chris Jericho also chimed in with his two cents.

In the latest episode of his Saturday Night Special, Chris Jericho spoke about his 30 years in wrestling.  One of the fans asked him to share his thoughts on WWE’s decision.

“Oh my gosh! That’s a tough one, but once again, these people get paid a lot of money. So I don’t know, it’s hard to say. Hey, listen! Not my problem,” Le Champion said.

For the rest of the video, Jericho discussed various moments from his career in response to fan questions. The AEW star revealed quite a few details about his career.

WWE will take over Superstars’ YouTube Channels

As we discussed earlier, WWE is getting criticized by fans, superstars, and wrestling pundits over its strange decisions. Previously, it was stated that all WWE Superstars (listed as independent contractors) will have to shut down their accounts on Twitch, TikTok, YouTube, etc within 30 days (till October 2).

Various WWE Superstars like Paige, Xavier Woods, AJ Styles, and Adam Cole have a huge social media following and they interact with fans on these platforms. As leading content creators or influencers, stars gain brand deals, sponsorships and make some extra money.

WWE’s justification for the situation was that they were entering the “next phase of growth,” and it was mandatory for everyone to put up with the Company’s ordeals. If Superstars failed to do so, they could be fined, suspended, or fired.

However, WWE has changed its stance a little. According to recent reports, Superstars can keep their accounts but WWE will “own” the accounts. Instead of wrestlers making the money they’re earning directly, it will be filtered through WWE and they will only get a “portion” of their earnings.

It’s likely the belief is that these wrestlers wouldn’t have large followings without their WWE fame, but considering WWE is a multi-billion dollar company, it could have left its employees’ personal earnings alone.

Right now, there is no news on the ongoing proceedings inside the company. Hopefully, we’ll get to know soon enough.
