It’s commonly known that there was a strange trend last year, in which the ‘Black John Cena’ became famous after a bodybuilder’s photo went viral. After a year, it is once more a topic of conversation courtesy to NJPW’s Fred Rosser, who said that he is thinking of dressing as Black Cena.

Ahead of the NPJW’s upcoming show on the Insiders Edge: A Pro Wrestling podcast, Rosser stated, “New Japan Strong is doing a show in New York, a Halloween show, and I’m thinking about dressing up as the Black John Cena.”

So we’ll see how that goes at a New Japan STRONG show. I’m still thinking about it … it’s gonna be my own way, you know, my own version of it, so we’ll see if I do it or not. I’d have to shave the goatee off, too, so I can have that pronounced chin like him.

It will be interesting to see if he actually does dress like Cena or not. Meanwhile, take a look at ‘Black Cena’ from last year, who created trends.

A bodybuilder who gained notoriety for being ‘Black John Cena’

The Internet is a very interesting place, especially when it involves social media memes and trends. Even the little stuff may unexpectedly become viral hits—even if they are only a single photo. That is what happened to Cobbina, who gained notoriety thanks to his resemblance to the 16-time WWE champion, and this became so well-known that Cena and the WWE star R-Truth also responded to it in a lighthearted way manner.

From the UK, bodybuilder Brendan Cobbina, owner of Omega Muscles, last year posted an old photo of himself. As a result of his striking resemblance to Cena, he subsequently gained popularity online under the name “Black John Cena.” Because of the photo getting over 61K likes, Cobbina is popularly known as “Black Cena” and even his Twitter handle has the same name.

When will The Champ return to the WWE?

The fact that Cena is flawless in every way makes him the gold standard for all other wrestlers. He possesses exceptional wrestling ability, a great attitude, and strong mic abilities. The Hustle Loyalty & Respect Soldier, however, has long ago left the WWE. While he did make an appearance in the WWE ring a few months ago, it was just to commemorate his 20th anniversary with the organization and not to actually wrestle.

Meanwhile, Cena’s return to the ring to engage in combat is eagerly anticipated by the WWE fanbase. Cena has, however, been working on Hollywood projects, and when he is finished, he will undoubtedly rejoin the company. And it is anticipated that he will face Austin Theory after Theory fired a few tweets at him.
