“Ava Raine Could Mean a Lot of Things”: Dwayne Johnson Promises His Daughter Will “Lay the SmackDown” in WWE

Simone Johnson has finally made her non-televised WWE debut and is carrying the family legacy forward. Dwayne Johnson is fully proud of his daughter, who finally got her first chance to shine in WWE.

Simone, whose wrestling name is Ava Raine, appeared on the July 9, NXT Live show at Englewood Neighborhood Center Orlando. She came into the ring and cut a promo on the women’s division of the third WWE brand.

Recently, Dwayne Johnson appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote his upcoming movie DC League of Super Pets. The guest host Kerry Washington asked him how proud he feels about Simone Johnson making a WWE debut.

Johnson said, “I’m very proud of her. So Simone Johnson my oldest daughter I have with Dany, she made her debut in WWE (in) their smaller federation NXT. So she did so good. She went out with the microphone, you gotta be poised when you go out there. She has a cool wrestling name. It’s Ava Raine.”

Ava Raine got a huge ovation from the crowd when DJ explained her WWE debut. He added, “She is the first fourth generation of pro wrestlers in WWE and I always like to say that name Ava Raine could mean a lot of things but to me, in my mind, she is going to lay the SmackDown on candy a**es when she goes there.”

It seems The Rock is not only excited as a father but is also is excited as a fan to see Ava Raine make her televised WWE debut. He is sure Raine is going to have a great WWE career and will make memorable moments by being there.

While talking about the debut of Simone Johnson, Dwayne Johnson shared his daughter getting a new name. However, Kerry Washington was curious about how wrestlers get their in-ring names. The Jumanji actor explained to her the process behind it.

The Rock said, “It comes from all different areas okay. Usually, it’s probably a mix of what she wanted to do, what she wanted to be called ultimately what the powers be want her to be called as well.”

Even though Johnson is away from wrestling for a while, he also holds pro wrestling high in his life. Whenever he gets an opportunity, he shows on WWE shows to make the arena electrifying. Moreover, everyone is waiting for when we will see The Rock alongside Raine in WWE.
