The biography details one such occurrence that altered The Phenom‘s career. As per Taker, his career changed when Ole Anderson criticized him when he was still in the WCW before joining WWE. As he said, “I have been with WCW now for about 8 or 9 months, I guess. And it was time to start renegotiating my contract. I was happy there. I like being in WCW, so I got called in and Ole Anderson was there who was booking the territory at the time.”
“That basically offered me the exact same deal that I just worked on. And I was like, well, okay. I was like, hoping for just a little of a bump. Ole looked right at me and he goes ‘Mark, you are a great athlete but no one will ever gonna pay money to watch you wrestle.”
If someone with Ole Anderson’s reputation says something like that, certainly will upset anyone. Taker experienced was left stunned like anyone else would have. However, Taker was motivated to improve his abilities and strengthen his tenacity in order to surpass all other wrestlers in sporting history.
