A few years ago, Jesse Ventura appeared in an interview shared by Title Match Wrestling. In the interview, he recalled the time he left WWE for an opportunity to share the big screen with Arnold Schwarzenegger

Ventura said, “Right before WrestleMania 2 and right before I did Predator I stood up in the dressing room and tried to unionize wrestling. There was nobody from the office there when I did it. I said, ‘Boys now is our chance. All the publicity has gone out on WrestleMania 2, all we have to do is refuse to wrestle and go public and say we want federal, because federal law, we want union representation to come in’.”

Ventura was in Las Vegas at the time and met NFL legend Gene Upshaw, who advised the WWE legend to make a union. He told the WWE stars that if they went ahead, the WCW wrestlers would join them in this suit, and the wrestling union could grow and be established. However, Ventura got a call from Vince McMahon when he found out about the union.

The WWE legend recalled, “Vince, he came with an eyelash of firing me. The only reason that saved me, the only reason I did it (because) I had to quit Vince to do Predator. I think Vince wasn’t letting me do it. Well, I quit, I told well then, and then I quit. I said I can always come back to wrestling. I’ll never get a chance to co-star with Arnold Schwarzenegger.”

Back in the day, things weren’t the same as today. Mr. McMahon rarely allowed his superstars to be a part of a movie. Surprisingly, Ventura claims Hulk Hogan who was a great friend of his told Mr. McMahon about the union. Moreover, McMahon admitted about Hogan telling him, but the Hulkster denies the fact.

Jesse Ventura became a major WWE personality after starring in a movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger

The 71-year-old WWE legend had worked in a major movie with The Austrian Oak. This gave Ventura an upper hand while negotiating with Vince McMahon. Moreover, in the same interview, he shared about getting an upper hand over the former CEO of WWE.
