Recently, Brian Gewirtz appeared for an interview with Ariel Helwani. Gewirtz is a former WWE Head Writer and current Seven Bucks Productions’, Head Of TV Development. He is currently promoting his new book ‘There is Just One Problem’. Towards the end of the interview, Gewirtz shed a light on the lifelong friendship between him and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

The former WWE Head writer said, “I think it stems from Dwayne’s attitude. Like when I first met him, which was like the very first day I met him at MTV and he’s looking over what I’ve written. Not pre-judging anybody. Not being like, ‘This guy! How could this guy possibly write for the freaking Rock and (then) saying, ‘This is pretty good. Hey, let’s do a vignette together. Be on the telephone and I’ll hit you with an ‘It doesn’t matter’ and then I’ll hype the segment coming up next.”

He added, “I’m being like, ‘okay, I think his willingness to not see things on surface level and getting to know somebody and being able to share in the successes and the adventures, the ups and downs and everything else. As a human being that’s just who he is.”

One of the major reasons Gewirtz gave is that The Rock doesn’t judge anyone. Furthermore, he called The Jumanji actor an open-minded person. He recalled DJ being a humble person is related to the events in his life. Those events made him respectful to everyone.

Further, he added, “The deep down answer is….I don’t know. We just hit it off.” Gewirtz concluded by saying Johnson gives a chance to everyone. Moreover, calls it the main reason for their friendship to have stayed for 20+ years.

Gewirtz said, “All I can say is this is his last match was with Erick Rowan in the impromptu match at WrestleMania with the Wyatt Family. I don’t know if that’s necessarily the big bow at the end of the career. There’s been a worse finale they had, than setting a WrestleMania time record in front of like how many thousand upon thousand people in the world watching it. I think, ultimately that’s up to The Rock, what he wants to do with that.”
