CM Punk Says He Will Fight Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania Under One Condition

CM Punk last wrestled in WWE in 2014. He left the company with a bitter experience that led him to say he won’t wrestle ever again. Still, fans believe he will make a comeback.

In a recent Twitter q&a session, Punk was asked if he will wrestle Roman Reigns at next year’s WrestleMania. Punk said he might; however, he had one condition.

Taking a jab at WrestleMania’s long duration, Punk said he would wrestle Roman only if it’s the opening match. It seems he does not have the patience to wait through all the matches and main-event the greatest show in WWE.

Punk and Reigns briefly faced each other when Reigns was still a part of The SHIELD, back in 2014.

Paul Heyman is unsure whether CM Punk will return to wrestling

CM Punk famously walked away from WWE in 2014. He later revealed he was suspended for two months for walking out. Still, when the suspension was over, nobody from WWE contacted him regarding a return, and instead, they served him termination papers on his wedding day that June.

Before that, CM Punk publicly stated his frustration about not headlining WrestleMania despite being on the top tier. His last manager, Paul Heyman, revealed about his return in an interview, “I don’t know,” Heyman said. “That’s certainly up to CM Punk. Maybe Vince McMahon, or both. On that one, I really have absolutely no clue. You’d probably know far better than I.”

AEW’s founder Tony Khan approached CM Punk for the promotion, but Punk demanded a huge amount of money. Punk has stated from time-to-time how he will be back if the money is right.

As for Roman Reigns, he is currently the Universal Champion on SmackDown. There are rumors that he and The Rock might go head to head at next year’s WrestleMania.
