Leaving a well-established career and venturing into the unknown is not for the faint-hearted. It requires immense courage and grit to do so. When Dwayne Johnson decided to make the transition from wrestling to acting, he did take a leap of faith.

The actor might be one of the most successful stars right now and everyone in the industry is vying for his attention. But that was not the case in his initial days in the movies, according to him in a past interview.

Johnson has been the face of various franchises grossing insurmountable amounts. And he continues to do so with multiple big-money projects under his belt.

Even during The People’s Champ’s wrestling days, there was something that made him stand out among the rest. However, in a past interview with Howard Stern, he talked about how he had limited interaction with fellow celebrities at the time.

Dwayne Johnson revealed how he was treated

The Great One was answering a fan’s query when he opened up about the same. He said, “So celebrities they like shy away from me they don’t, they can’t talk to me or something. I don’t know what it is“.

The 10-time WWE champion was still at the nascent stage of his acting career back then. The way he was treated back then was maybe because he was considered an outsider at the time.

As always, though, Johnson proved his doubters wrong by carving out a rewarding career in the movies. So much so that he inspired a route from wrestling into acting.

WWE legends John Cena and Batista can surely attest to that fact. The People’s Champ himself would have found inspiration from the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger. The bodybuilder-turned-actor is still massively popular owing to an illustrious movie career.

A tough last month for Johnson

It hasn’t been quite as smooth sailing for Johnson in recent times. His dream project, Black Adam, underperformed at the box office in 2022. And it was revealed in December that the DCEU was not interested in a second installment for the movie.

The Brahma Bull has ‘The Red One’ in his kitty, which will come out later this year on Amazon Prime. Add to that the speculation of him facing nephew Roman Reigns at WrestleMania this year and it can’t be more exciting.

The admission made by Dwayne Johnson in the past interview highlights a dark truth. The way he was treated by various celebrities goes to show a lot about the industry. The fans of Johnson would be pleased that he did not let it deter him from getting success.
