Dwayne Johnson’s Seven Bucks Production and NBC’s hit comedy, Young Rock, season 2, revolves around Johnson getting into the wrestling business.
When Johnson’s NFL dream was crushed, he followed in his father’s footsteps to become a professional wrestler. The Rock shared a video on his Instagram as a snippet from a special episode from Young Rock, season 2.

Tonight season 2, episode 10, premieres on NBC and everywhere, and this episode is named “Rocky’s Code.” In this episode, Johnson’s father, Rocky Johnson, gets hurt inside the squared circle, and The Rock’s worried about his dad’s health.

The former WWE World Champion mentioned that back in 1987, he used to travel to Nashville to watch his father wrestle in the independent circuit. Notably, Dwayne Johnson looked up to his father for the grind he put in pro wrestling.

However, pain and injuries go parallel when it comes to wrestling. So as Rocky Johnson got old, young Rock got worried about his old pal.

Dwayne Johnson learned a valuable lesson from his father, Rocky Johnson, at a very young age. When Johnson was a kid, his dad told him, “a day without pain is like a day without sunshine.”
Rocky Johnson would hide his pain from his son because no father would want his kid to get worried. But Johnson, in his teens, understood that his father hustled through the night so that their family could eat. The Rock could see the pain that his father had to go through when he was in the squared circle.

“My dad (like all wrestlers of his era) had to find a way to numb the pain. Nightly grind = pain. But pain = getting paid,” Dwayne Johnson added.
