Dwayne Johnson Reveals Why He is Training Harder Than Ever for DC’s Black Adam

Dwayne Johnson is currently filming the DCEU movie Black Adam, which will be his debut in the superhero genre movies. Previously, Johnson has been part of many action films and a couple of Disney movies. Black Adam seems like a dream project to him and he is working hard for the same.

If you follow superhero movies, you’ll be well-versed in the training the actors go to fit in the role. Similarly, Dwayne Johnson has worked out so intensely that the costume team of Black Adam suit had to remove extra muscle padding.

Dwayne Johnson is doing everything in his pocket to make the role of Black Adam a fan favourite. He replied to the above tweet and told the importance of his role as this anti-hero character and why he didn’t want extra muscle padding.

The tweet said, “True story 😊 I had the DC costume team remove all the thick muscle padding they put in the original Black Adam suit. The goal is to usher a new era of antihero, so I wanted to put in the hard work and raise the bar. BLACK ADAM⚡️World Premiere Trailer drops JUNE 8th! #nopadding”.

We can truly see while reading the tweet how Dwayne Johnson is eager to bring a new era for superhero movies. It seems Johnson wants to change the training methods for playing a superhero in a movie.

A few years back we saw actress Brie Larson increase her strength tremendously for playing Captain Marvel in MCU. We saw her pushing a jeep before she started shooting for her MCU film. Also, Henry Cavill and Chris Hemsworth put their souls while working out for Superman and Thor. 

The former WWE star already loves lifting weights and working out daily. Inspired by the above actors, he too wants to bring a new era in comic-verse movies.

What is the story of Black Adam that Dwayne Johnson is playing?

Black Adam is the protector of the fictional city Kahndaq in DC comics, which is located near the country of Egypt on the African continent.

Black Adam aka Teth-Adam is born in the year 1279 BC. Teth-Adam is the son of the ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Ramesses II. He impresses one of the high priests, the wizard Shazam, with his good deeds. The wizard then gives Teth-Adam the power to become the superhero, Mighty Adam.

However, Tenth Adam becomes a corrupted person later and to rule the whole of Egypt, he kills the Pharoah. The wizard Shazam, after watching, takes away Adam’s power and buries him in his father’s tomb. In death, they refer to the former hero as “Khem-Adam” in comics which translates to “Black Adam”. Dwayne Johnson will play the part when Adam comes to life 5000 years later and wants to take back his powers.
