He recently gave his fans a glimpse into his struggling days where he didn’t even have a place to live. This was back in ‘95, when The Rock was cut from The Calgary Stampeders of the CFL.

He used a pay phone to call his parents, asking them for a place to live. His father, Rocky Johnson, immediately drove almost 300 miles to pick up his son. He only had $7 bucks.

This particular story gives the audience a glimpse into the type of father Rocky Johnson was.

The Rock has often revealed that he didn’t always share a stable relationship with his father. But, when his son was in trouble, Rocky Johnson didn’t think twice before starting his truck to pick up his son.

This shows that The Rock’s father truly had a heart of gold which his son has inherited.
