Recent reports state that WWE Superstar Edge has suffered an injury during his match against Randy Orton at Backlash. “The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever” was pre-recorded on June 7th or 8th. Part of the reason this was done was because of the match being dragged on over the limit.

Apparently, the entire match as it was fought lasts for about 35 minutes! Obviously, they will have to cut it down to meet Backlash’s time slot.

However, the main focus of the argument is not the duration of the match, but an injury that Edge may have sustained in his duel against “The Viper”.

Edge has been in the WWE for a long time, and would not let his injuries prevent him from doing what he loved anymore.

If there’s anything that we’ve learned from all those TLC and Hell In A Cell moments, it’s that Edge often puts his body on the line. So much so that a major neck injury forced him to hang up his boots, back in 2011.

However, having made a full recovery, he returned to WWE to ‘spear’ opponents yet again. The prodigal son made his return only to be betrayed by Randy Orton.

This unexpected heel turn pulled Edge into a huge feud. Randy Orton even tried finishing Edge’s chances of wrestling again by brutal attacks to his spine.

All this led to the much-awaited Last Man Standing Match at WrestleMania. Edge endured the physical challenges of the match to prove once and for all that he is back.

However, this wasn’t the end, and Randy Orton went at it again. They were set up for “The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever” at Backlash which they both believed was a joke at first.

Edge may be out for months!

However, Vince McMahon insisted it happen, hence the course was set. His injury now means that there could be a huge dent in the storyline and WWE’s plans for him.

His injury is reportedly a torn tricep which could take months to heal! The entire plan may implode along with Edge’s pro-wrestling career.

Pushing Edge into a huge storyline at the heels of his comeback was probably not a good idea. They should have given him some time to find his feet and get rid of ring rust.

We don’t yet know the severity of the injury and there are chances that it may be minor. However, the worst-case scenario says that we may not see him at Summerslam so, fingers crossed.
