WWE Hall of Famer Edge sends one of the best and most emotional throw backs in recent history. We got to see Edge after nine long years at WWE SummerSlam 2019.

On the Pre-Show of WWE SummerSlam 2019, Elias was out in the ring to perform at his regular music concert. The people of Toronto blew the roof off when the performance was interrupted by their very own Rated ‘R’ Superstar.

Edge and Elias would look at each other with no words being said. Edge would then do the unthinkable and spear Elias. This was the Canadian wrestler’s first bit of physical activity since his retirement.

Edge feels he still has a lot more to achieve on his second stint

The spear kickstarted rumors everywhere among the WWE universe about Edge’s return. Fortunately, the rumors came true as Edge made his return at the Royal Rumble 2020.

Sharing this memory on Twitter, Edge has made certain things very clear. The Rated ‘R’ Superstar is not back this time for his honeymoon period or some cash, but is back to achieve great heights.

For those who don’t remember the essence of that spear last year, let me take you back in time. In 2011, days after WrestleMania 27, Edge would come out on SmackDown to relinquish his title.

This would happen due to a career-threatening injury called Cervical spinal stenosis. It is an injury involving the narrowing of the spinal canal at the level of the neck.

If Edge would take a risky bump, he could get paralyzed or even lose his life.

In the following years, the Rated ‘R’ Superstar would make many more appearances. However, most of them would be for his movie promotions, the cutting edge peep show, and just fun segments.

Superstars would constantly do dig promos at Edge, but he would just walk away as he could not do much about it. Hence, 2019 SummerSlam is a very important event in Edge’s second innings.

Post his return at the Royal Rumble 2020, the Hall of Famer wrestled his first match at WrestleMania 36. He defeated Randy Orton in a last man standing match.

The two would lock horns again in the greatest wrestling match ever at Backlash. Orton would go over with Edge getting another injury and has not been seen since then.

He has now been injured for months, with his nemesis Randy Orton facing Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam for the WWE championship. Interference in the title match to cost Orton would be a perfect revenge and return.
