Fandango, Killian Dain and Other Superstars React to Their Releases from WWE

WWE is back in hot water after releasing a vast amount of talent at the end of the week. While few NXT stars departed, 205 Live and Cruiserweight Division have taken the biggest hit. However, how have these superstars reacted to their sudden release?

WWE 205 Live becomes a lot lighter

Majority of the cuts have come from the 205 Live brand. Former Cruiserweight Champion Tony Nese is perhaps the most shocking, as his recent performances showcased his incredible talent. Nese even won the Cruiserweight Championship from Buddy Murphy in an excellent WrestleMania 35 match.

Jinder Mahal’s henchmen, Samir and Sunil Singh also leave the company after a four-year run. Repackaged as the Bollywood Boyz, they became a staple on the 205 Live brand. Regular competitors August Grey, Curt Stallion and Ariya Daivari also leave the company.

Former Raw Underground superstar Arturo Ruas joins the list of released employees. NXT’s Marina Shafir joins her teammate Jessamyn Duke out of the company; their releases coming one month apart. Rising tag team Ever-Rise, who just competed against Hit Row in NXT also leave WWE.

The three most shocking releases from the NXT brand were Breezango and Killian Dain. Big Damo has been doing his best work alongside Drake Maverick, and it is sad to see Maverick staying on board, having been released last year. Breezango held the NXT Tag Team Championship a year ago, but will look for newer waters to tread.

Could we see any of these talents back?

The released superstars can consider their release a boon. While some claim their WWE release was the end of their career, for some it could be the start. We’ve seen names like Lio Rush, KENTA, Drew McIntyre and Chris Jericho thrive after leaving WWE, and a ton of the aforementioned superstars can thrive on the independent scene or another promotion.

With the rise of NJPW Strong in the United States, we might witness majority of the 205 Live releases heading there to wrestle against the talented folk of the LA Dojo. However, we could see a few of the aforementioned names back in WWE.

Last year we witnessed Drake Maverick return to full-time action, and last week we saw Samoa Joe back a month after his release. We could just see the likes of Killian Dain, Fandango and Tyler Breeze back in the WWE Performance Center, especially since they’ve been a part of Vince McMahon‘s world for almost a decade.
