Former US Champion Got So Captivated By The Undertaker’s Entrance That He Forgot He is a WWE Superstar

The Undertaker is perhaps the greatest WWE Superstar of all time. His aura has enthralled generations of WWE fans. One of the most iconic parts of The Deadman’s persona is his entrance; it is simply bewitching. No matter how many times one sees The Phenom make his slow walk down the ramp, it never ceases to be astounding.

WWE fans for generations have seen The Undertaker walk down that ramp with his dark aura. One would think that WWE Superstars who have seen The Undertaker backstage might feel less captivated with his entrance. But that is not true as it completely stunned former United States Champion Apollo Crews.

In an interview with Vicente Beltrán, Apollo spoke about how he is a huge fan of The Undertaker. He shared that he and his father used to watch The Undertaker in the past and they still do. Crews highlighted the fact that The Deadman has given a lot to WWE.

He recalled a time at Madison Square Garden when The Undertaker made an appearance. Apollo got to watch The Deadman’s legendary entrance. Crews shared how he felt watching the Deadman walk down the ramp.

“He was getting ready to do his entrance, and he had everybody just captivated, you know what I mean? Once that gong hit, I was just standing there watching. Just the kid inside. It didn’t change any type of way that I felt. That, to me, is so impressive. You know, I don’t think if anything could ever happen like that for anybody.”

A legendary character like that of The Undertaker requires layers of story. Everything about The Phenom’s style, from his entrance to his attire and moves in the ring, tells a story. The Deadman is very good at not breaking character and that definitely reflects from how he has carried himself every single time during his long entrances.

Most wrestlers have to keep reinventing their characters with time to keep fans interested. The Undertaker has done that as well with his various personas, including The Deadman, The American Badass, and The Ministry of Darkness.

But one would think a character like The Undertaker would work best with kayfabe still being alive. That would have been the case if The Undertaker was just any other superstar. But as we know, every time that gong hits and the lights go out, we are guaranteed to get chills.
