Many wrestlers in the past have noted that WWE chairman Vince McMahon is notoriously known for only promoting his home-grown talents and does not care about Indy superstars.

However, this seemed to change drastically when Vince McMahon hired arguably the best Indy wrestlers of all time – AJ Styles. The former WWE Champion debuted for the company in 2016 and since then, he has been an integral part of the WWE.

Styles changed many people’s perspectives when he became Mr. McMahon’s confidant. Now, after six years of wrestling for Vince McMahon, ‘The Phenomenal One’ confessed that this will be his last promotion and he will retire from the sport in WWE.

Vince McMahon was not impressed after knowing who AJ Styles was

Before coming to WWE in 2016, Styles conquered the Indy circuit. The former United States champion wrestled for Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro Wrestling. However, Styles was notably known for his matches and stint in Dixy Carter’s TNA, now known as IMPACT Wrestling.

However, recently AJ Styles admitted that Vince was not much impressed with his skillset inside the ring. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful interviewed Styles in person, and the former WWE champion confessed that Vince was not really high after knowing who he was.

Styles further noted that he and Vince talk about their problems and he also noted that if he doesn’t like anything, he makes sure that Vince is aware of it.

“This sounds crazy, but in some ways we’re very much alike. Truth is the big thing… If you’re pissed off, tell him,” said Styles.
