Former WWE Champion Gets Emotional as Hockey Legend Guy Lafleur Passes Away at 70

Hossein Khosrow Ali Vaziri Aka, The Iron Sheik, is a legendary wrestler from Iran. He wrestled all around the world in professional wrestling and won multiple championships, including the WWF World Heavyweight Championship.

The WWE Hall of Famer’s longest-running feud was with The Hulk Hogan. Hulk Hogan became a WWF champion for the first time after defeating The Iron Sheik. The feud between the two resulted in the emergence of the WWE’s Golden Era. This helped to popularize the game.

However, The Iron Sheik is resentful of the 1984 Madison Square Garden encounter between himself and Hulk Hogan for the WWE Championship. On that night, Hogan escaped to The Camel Clutch and beat Sheik for the championship.

Consequently, Shiek has been taking jabs at Hogan on Twitter from time to time. The Sheik’s Twitter feed is loaded with jabs against Hogan. However, the Iranian wrestling legend tweeted a heartfelt message regarding the death of hockey legend Guy Lafleur.

The Iron Sheik getting emotional after the demise of Hockey Legend

Guy Lafleur, a Montreal Canadiens legend and Hockey Hall of Famer, died on Friday at the age of 70 after a battle with lung cancer. He was the first player in NHL history to score at least 50 goals in six consecutive seasons. In addition, he was prominent in the team’s five Stanley Cup victories.

Paying tribute to hockey legend, Iranian wrestling legend The Iron Sheik Tweeted, “Guy Lafleur I love you forever, I come to the Montreal many time I meet you loved the sports. I never forget you. God bless you forever.”

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also paid his tribute by tweeting, “Guy Lafleur, or “The Flower,” was unlike anyone else on the ice. His speed, skill, and scoring were hard to believe. A record-setter and a five-time Stanley cup champion, he inspired countless Quebecers, Canadians, and hockey fans around the world. We’ll miss you, Number 10.”

Following Guy Lafleur’s passing, the Canadiens and NHL community are grieving the loss of a hockey legend. Fans all over the world, NHL clubs, and players paid homage to him.
