Former WWE Guest Announcer And Baseball Legend Tommy Lasorda Passes Away At 93

Former baseball manager and celebrity guest ring announcer, Tommy Lasorda, has passed away. Tommy had been hospitalised for over a month, and a sudden heart attack spelt the end of his celebrated life. Along with the Los Angeles Dodgers, the WWE also paid tribute to the baseball great at the time of his passing. He died at 93.

Tommy was at WrestleMania 2 where he was the celebrity guest ring announcer. WrestleMania 2 was infamous for being the only PPV that emanated from three different cities and venues. Tommy did the ring announcing for the Los Angeles part of WrestleMania, since that was the city he was most associated with.
According to an official statement made by the Los Angeles Dodgers, Lasorda suffered a cardiopulmonary arrest, and was pronounced dead at 10:57 pm on Thursday. He finally hoped to see the Dodgers win the World Series, which came true when he witnessed the Dodgers win the series 3-1 against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Lasorda spent an incredible 71 years with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He has won over 1500 games for the esteemed franchise and led them to two World Series victories.
Tommy also won the National League’s Manager of the Year Award twice. Upon retiring, the Dodgers retired their #2 jersey out of respect. He spent the last fourteen years as a special advisor to the chairman of the Dodgers.

Tommy Lasorda was at WrestleMania 2 to do the ring announcing. He is one of the many greats of the sporting world who have made their presence felt in the WWE. WrestleMania is pro wrestling’s biggest spectacle, which means Vince McMahon is going to go all out to make it feel like a big deal.
