One of the most popular WWE superstars in the history of the company, Dwayne Johnson, turned into a fine Hollywood actor. In fact, today we recognize him as the highest-paid action hero worldwide.

Johnson’s WWE career took off when he turned heel and joined The Nation of Domination. However, his career reached its peak when he became the WWE Champion, joining Vince and Shane McMahon’s The Corporation in 1998, tuning heel again after being a baby face for some time.

Former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. sat in an interview with PEOPLE. He shared stories about his late grandmother, who was a pro-wrestling fan. Furthermore, he also shared how she did not like his wife Sarah Michelle Gellar, for working on 2006’s Southland Tales with Dwayne Johnson.

Prinze said, “I remember my wife did a movie with Dwayne Johnson, and Dwayne’s [WWE] character, the Rock, turned his back on the people and he became what was known as the corporate champion, and all the fans hated him for it.”

He added, “And when my grandma found out that Sarah was doing a movie with him, she got pissed off at my wife for siding with the corporation and not the people. She was genuinely upset and genuinely mad at her, I think till the day she died. But that’s how serious [she] took it.”

Prinze shared that his late grandmother was a Puerto Rican woman and a massive wrestling fan. Thus, she disliked The People’s Champ as he was a very effective heel then. Prinze Jr. told PEOPLE wrestling is no joke down in Puerto Rico.

However, that wasn’t his last match. Johnson appeared at WrestleMania 32 and had an impromptu match against Erick Rowan. Surprisingly, he won the match in record-breaking six seconds.
