There is a possibility that WWE is considering this match as an option for SummerSlam. As a matter of fact, when McIntyre was asked how he feels about this, he said that he is looking forward to it.

McIntyre believes that even when Orton is not giving his 100%, he is still better than 90% of others.

“Like, even when he’s not even trying – he’s admitted himself sometimes he’s not putting in 100 percent – but he’s still better than 90 percent of everybody in the world when he’s barely trying. But when he’s on, there is nobody that can touch Randy Orton.”

Drew McIntyre looks forward to the Mcintyre-Orton match

The primary reason why McIntyre looks forward to this battle is because of the storyline. The two of them received great opportunities in the early stages of their careers.

That is to say that they have been the favourites of the management.

However, while there was someone to clean up Orton’s mess, McIntyre was not as protected as him. McIntyre expresses how his mistakes led him to the curb.

On the other hand, Orton kept rising through the ranks owing to the protection he had.

“Randy has all the natural talent in the world, but he was very protected. Every time he messed up, he made sure someone was cleaning up his mess behind him. Whenever I messed up, it hurt me and it hurt me and eventually I was out of that position. And again, he was on a different level talent wise, but he was very much protected until he got to the top and then he figured it out to become the man he is today.”

Therefore, there was a point when wrestling had completely given up on McIntyre and Orton was making a name for himself at the top.

Following this, he had to put in all his efforts to reach the top. This process took a lot of time.

“With Drew McIntyre. I kind of got kicked to the curb. I was in 3MB, got fired and as long as wrestling was constantly trying to hand me everything, I was rejecting it. It got to the point where wrestling gave up, I was fired and it was up to me to really want this. I started working on myself. Instead of wrestling choosing me, I chose wrestling and I started working my ass and took the long way round to reach the top.”
