In WWE, we are quite used to seeing a scripted fight in the squared circle. But we might not be aware of the stars’ serious disputes with each other outside the ring. WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg recently revealed one of his heated real-life moments with fellow WWE veteran, Randy Orton.

Orton has lately been in the news, mostly because of his potential return at WrestleMania 39. The Viper has been away from the ring since May last year due to his prolonged back injury, so there is massive speculation floating in the air regarding his return to the Stamford-bases company this weekend. The 42-year-old phenomenal star has always been a fan favorite, be it as a face or a heel. But perhaps one of the major drawbacks of his nature involves his giant ego, at least one of his peers, Road Dogg thinks so.

During an old episode of the ‘Oh You don’t know podcast’ in 2022, the Hall of Famer recalls an unfavorable incident where he and Orton failed to execute their matches properly because of the unsorted clash between them.

Detailing the entire incident, Dogg noted, ‘At this point, me and Randy Orton, me, Billy (Gunn), and Randy Orton are kind of butting heads a little bit, and it’s just because Randy’s the man, and he’s been the man for a while… I was young in sobriety, and I was older in my wrestling, and I was like, ‘Why are we waiting on him? If me and Billy are here, so should he.’ So, that’s my ego and my pride talking, and he has the same thing. He’s an alpha with ego and pride too’.

The 53-year-old star also acknowledged his own wrong thinking pattern, saying ‘ so I thought it was me being egoistical and thinking he should bow down, you know I mean because oh we’re the old timers.’

With Randy Orton Reportedly Nearing His WWE Return, Bully Ray Wants Him to Wrestle Controversial AEW Star

Orton’s refusal to bend in front of him predominantly for being a newcomer as compared to Dogg initially offended the latter. However, eventually, he realized his part in the mistake and currently shares a ‘great relationship’ with the Viper. A comeback is on the cards for Orton as he looks to return to the squared circle after a prolonged hiatus.

The latest report on Randy Orton’s WWE return

With a few days in hand before the annual WrestleMania mega event hits the floor, all expect to have Orton back in the ring. The speculation is attaining new heights with each passing day. Orton left the ring with a lot of unfinished business, including his anticipated fight against The Bloodline, who beat him up along with Matt Riddle following their loss at the Raw Tag Team Championship match to the Usos. He also could have a match with the American Nightmare somewhere down the line if he wins his dream title, dethroning Roman Reigns.

Amid the return speculation, a report by Dave Meltzer has noted, ‘all the indications are that he’s on his way back, which is also good news because, at the end of last year, there were definitely people worried about him.’

Now only time will say whether the Apex Predator will finally make his much-anticipated return on WrestleMania weekend or not.
