It is safe to say that Dwayne Johnson paved the way for WWE superstars to transition into full-time Hollywood actors. Over the years, we have seen many WWE stars making a name as an actor, too. Stars such as John Cena, Batista, Sasha Banks etc. are to name a few who are famous in the acting world.

However, Cena recently opened up about following in Johnson’s footsteps in Hollywood. 

A few days back, John Cena appeared for an interview at Comic-Con Wales 2022. The host asked him how it feels after Dwayne Johnson passed him the torch in WWE and in Hollywood.

Cena, in a confusing manner, replied, “I wasn’t aware that there was a torch involved. Could you be more specific with your question?”

The host asked how Cena feels after he is doing the same thing The Rock did, i.e, transitioning from a wrestler to a Hollywood actor. 

The 16-time world champion said, “Is that what I’m doing? If that’s the case thanks for the one for the one guy who’s on my side. That’s a huge burden. I just want you to know that. WWE is appreciated the world over.” 

Further, The Cenation Leader talked about coming to Cardiff to wrestle for 15-plus years. However, this year he won’t make to Clash at the Castle, to which the fans started booing. 

He told the host this is how it works between him and his fans. The WWE Universe sometimes like him and sometimes they don’t. However, in the end, Cena, as always, paid his gratitude to his fans.

He added, “If I’m the representative for all of us for anything outside of WWE and I try to say this at the 20-year anniversary, please tell me what you like stuff, please tell me what you don’t, so thanks for booing me. Please know that every day I’m trying to do my best. So I hope I’m doing something you are happy with.”

After a humble speech thanking his fans for supporting him in WWE and Hollywood, the host asked an interesting question to John Cena. She asked Cena on which former WWE star’s work does he prefer, Dave Batista or Dwayne Johnson.

Furthermore, the former WWE champion called The Rock a man in another bracket. He stated Johnson is once in lifetime superstar. As for Batista, Cena said the Animal underrated him as an actor. As per Cena Batista is a wonderful character actor and chooses his roles very wisely.
